There are less than 40 days remaining in the semester...time is really scooting along. A lot has happened.
We recently signed Tom Boe from Pierre, SD. Tom is among the top couple of players in South Dakota and we are excited to be able to bring some local talent to our soccer family. It is also really cool that he is a third generation Tiger. Tom Boe will play a strong role on this team.
We just completed our 1st Annual St. Paddy's Day Classic Futsal Tournament. It went terrific. We had 16 men's and 8 women's teams in this first year. It went really well. The guys did a great job to make it a huge success. People came from all over the place which made it alot of fun. We even had some wonderful folks from Michigan here...all the guys want to give a "shout out" to Nathan, Anthony, and Curtis. We really enjoyed you all. In addition to those guys, we also had many local recruits as well. Mason Hebert from Texas was also here and signed with us while he enjoyed the tournament...we are very glad to have him onboard.
In addition to the futsal and classes...the guys are continuing to impress everyone with their compassion and thoughtfulness off the field. The guys have put together a plan to help elementary school readers through a "breakfast buddies" program. They have been helping the Mitchell Safehouse on a pretty regualar basis as well. We are also all very excited that on August 14th the entire DWU Men's Soccer Team will receive Disaster Relief Training from the American Red Cross. This traing will be huge for our team and will help us not only help our communities in South Dakota...but also our individual communities that we are all originally from all over the country.
We have come a long way in the past year...and believe that we are really building something special here! Talk to you next time. Coach Farley
